PP (PolyPropylene) is a common material that can be divided into Homopolymers (more rigid + low cold-flex) and Co-polymers. PP has good chemical resitance and it is a relatively cheap material, density is about 0.95. Excellent resistance to Bases & Salts and fair resistance to Acids. PP has poor resistance to Halogens, Oxidants, Aromatic/Aliphatic/Chlorinated solvents, Esters and Ketones. Temperature range varies depending on grade but commonly -15°C to +85°C.
We offer PP- Tubes, Profiles and Fittings.
PE (PolyEthylene) can be divided into Low density (LD-PE), Medium density (MD-PE) and High density (HD-PE). Density is about 0.95 and temperature range is -40°C to +75°C.
PolyOlefine Elastomers are elastic flexible versions of PE/PP.
PVC (PolyVinylChloride) is one of the most common polymers and relatively cheap. Density is between 1.2 & 1.4 and it can be produced rigid or in various softnesses starting from shore 52A up to 100A. For example shore 75A is a common hardness of flexible PVC tubes. PVC is transparent but it can easily be coloured. It is one of the easiest materials to extrude, and can be produces with various filling materials. Temperature range is about -30°C to +70°C.
We offer PVC- flexible Tubes, rigid Pipes and Profiles.
TPU / PUR (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a common material in flexible pneumatic tubes. Can be divided into 2 main groups, Ester based and Ether based Polyurethanes. Hardnesses range from shore 55A to 98A. TPU tubes are known for excellent flexibility at low temperatures and great wear resistancy. TPU is quite transparent and can easily be coloured. Density 1.1-1.2 and temperature range about -40°C to +75°C.
We offer TPU extruded to tubes and profiles. It is also a commonly used in Injection moulding.
TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomers) available in a wide range of softnesses and ofter referred to under different trade names; for example Santoprene®, Mediprene®, Dryflex®, Hytrel®, Pebax®...
Pebax® (Polyether block amid) offers the widest range of performances (mechanical, chemical, processing) among thermoplastic elastomers. Often used in Medical applications as it complies with USP class VI. Density 1.01 and hardness range between shore 25D to 70D.
We offer TPE extruded to tubes and profiles.
EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) is a copolymer of Ethylene and Vinyl Acetate. The weight percent Vinyl Acetate usually varies from 10 to 40%.
PA (PolyAmide) also known as Nylon is a common material in flexible pneumatic tubes. PA has good impact resitance but a high water absorbsion. It has good chemical resitance to organic solvents, oils and gasoline but poor resistance to strong acids. Density is 1.13 and temperature range about -40°C to +65/+90°C.
PS (Polystyrene) / HIPS (High impact Polystyrene) used for profiles, Density is 1.05 and temperature range about -10/-20°C to +60°C.
ABS (Acryl Butadien Styrene) commonly used for profiles, also often mixed with PC (ABS+PC) used for example in mobile phone shells. Density 1.05 and temperature range about -40°C to +70°C.
PC (Poly Carbonate) is a highly transparent material with great impact resitancy. For example DVD & CD:s are made from PC. Limited chemical resitancy. Density is 1.2 and temperature range -80°C to +130°C.
PMMA (PolyMethylMethAcrylate) is best known for its excellent transparency that can be compared to glass, it is commonly known as Plexiglas or Acrylic. PMMA is stiff and has good UV resistancy, but poor chemical and impact resitance. Density is 1.18 and temperature range -40°C to +70°C.
